Navarino Nature Center is a non-profit environmental education facility located within the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Navarino Wildlife Area in the southeastern section of Shawano County.
NNC leases a 40-acre portion of land within the Navarino Wildlife Area. Located around the Nature Center is a sheltered picnic area, an amphitheater, an ADA-accessible trail system, a boardwalk, a nature playscape, and an all-season educational building that is accessible to people of all abilities. Also located around the Center are rustic restrooms, parking areas, and pollinator gardens.
Environmental education programs are offered to grades pre-K through 12th. School programs relate to current studies and are adapted to support the Wisconsin Educational Standards.
Programs are offered both onsite and off, and run year-round. A complete listing of the offerings can be found on the school programs page. Click here.
